Dr. Fish business opportunities already booming here in Seam Reap at touristics spots. Many businessman grasped this opportunity. The idea is simple by having customer for feeding Dr.Fishes and you will earn money.

Shopping Maniac.. Your Heaven in Siem Reap

For shopping lovers should have a big smile and satisfaction to spent their money here in Seam Reap. They can shop at old market or nite market that close and walking distance area for each other.

T-shirt for 2 USD, with locally printed theme such as "angkor wat", "angkor beer", "cambodian eleven", "mine victim", "alphabect" etc. In addition if you like international or funny words printing on the t-shirt you also can find as your taste for instance: "adidas", "puma", "no money no honey", "same-same" on so on.

The price amazing me.. 2USD each, those still negotiable if you buy more or nicely bargain with the traders. I bought a dozen t-shirt for the price 1.25USD each.. hahaha.. crazy cheap. In addition the quality also not bad.. quiet satisfactory as the price.

Come on maniac shopping I believe you will agree on me.. Let's come here to Seam Reap.. Things much cheaper here.. even for a budget traveller like me.. :) hehehhe Amazing.. how can it possible cheap here.

If you like D&G or CK boxer.. hahahah.. damn cheap, they offered me USD5 for 3pcs.. Scarfs, silk material or pure nice cotton range for 1 to 5USD.. mamamiyah lezato... sure.. u'll said that if you are a shopping maniac.

Exploring more the nite market, they have madicure pedicure, massages, bar, doctor fish, recycle products, cinema, street mine victim music, some traditional dance event, food and drinks, souvenir, handicrafts, hairband and so on. The decoration of the shops also very unique. They constructed the nite market as open space. They display the products in the shop like gallery in the hut style . The layout is good and convenience even for window dressing to walk around.

So... what else are you waiting for? let's book the flight and enjoy the shopping here and the Angkor scenery as well as the food... hmm Mamamiyah lezato...

I remembered now, why the textile in Cambodia pretty cheap. While I was riding bicycle yesterday. I saw and read the signboard "Textile Institution of Seam Reap Cambodian" currious come in my mind why they have this institution? Though Indonesian also have the same yeah.. in Bandung or Tanah Abang ya ?? hehehe So that is one possible answer.. I though..

Approaching ANGKOR

Riding bicycle to ANGKOR why not ?

Sounds it's challenging to ride bicycle to approach Angkor Wat.. Many active tourists take bike and pedalling to see the temples around Angkor. The rental bike can easily find around the old market for 1USD a day.

The temperature in Cambodia is heating enough at this moment. The sun brightly heat this land. At 10.30 am I'm get ready to pedal my bike to reach ANGKOR. With the map and starting point from old market i start my journey. The passed road to go to Angkor is very nice, as they have many old and big trees beside the road.

The trees can shade you from the heat. Beside it's adequately windy. The distance from the old market is about 5km. Slowly I'm pedalling my bike and at the same times hearing my musics... wow.. what a lovely day..

It's still new year celebration here, so many local Khmer people visiting the Temples for relaxing and picnics. Hammocs are favorite use here.. Along the streets, we can see the people hang on the hammocs between the trees and rocking for relaxing. Some streets vendors also easily found around the streets.

The Angkor Wat located just opposite the lake, It's a big lake that makes the Angkor become more beautiful to see. For the tourists who want to visit some temples here, need to pay 20USD for a day pass or 40USD for 2-3days pass.

After reaching the Angkor Wat, as usual program taking some shoot of photos, observing the streets vendors around and drinking drinking a lot. The heat make me thirsty so much, my lips getting dry.. I have drunk my 1liter water bottle up to now, but still never enough. i need 1 liter more cold sugar cane water.. hmm... wow.. that's so good, coold water.. the only I need now.. hehehe..

Resting a while at the lake opposite the Angkor Wat, then I am heading home.. turn on my musics and start pedalling my bike.. It's just a short visit as the weather is too hot for me. I think best time to see Angkor Wat at early morning or at sunset time.. that will be more interesting for me.. Around 1.30pm.. I'm at guest house already... felt a bit tired.. but satisfied....

Bye for now Angkor.. tomorrow I will go to Thailand's border Poi Vet... then take train to Bangkok.. again and again to continue my 10USD journeys. See you in Thailand blogs in the future.. Thanks..

Is it in Europe ? Old Market in Seam Reap

The Asian European Connection (AEC)

One tourist from Italy, said that some areas around the Old Market looks like in Europe. They have well heritage old building from the colony era. The design of the open pub, bar and restorants as well as the shops atmosfer having connection with Asian European styles.

It's pretty clean the road side in Old market area. Beside it's a famous place like a Mekkah for the budget travellers from all over the world. The niter the more peoples around, mostly tourists who can be a king while travelling into the cheap country like cambodia. You can manage to stay in 1USD dormitory or 3 - 15USD rooms. Otherwise if you love more luxury stuffs also able to fullfill your dreams.

Along the small gangs path - corridors they make it clean and as a business venue as well. There you can find chairs of bar in clean open air, the nice decorations shops etc etc etc. Just look like in Europe the tourist commented, but with the asia style and theme.

The pub street always busy.. with tourists.. drink drank DRUNK.. :) or having dinners, talking with friends as well as singing and dancing... The nite longer at these kind of places. The party still continue up to 2-3 am. Old market also the food heaven.. so easy to find the food surrounding this location. You can eat from 1usd till maximum you can spend.. see.. much much cheaper compare to the beach of Sihanoukville area..

Well it's getting late already.. I'm starting sleepy.. Will finish my blog up to here first.. and tomorrow will write another blog.. I wish..

Tiny Moslem Community in Seam Reap

Being adolescent moeslims community in Seam Reap? What and How they survive for the brief review.

In the purpose to find halal food in Seam Reap, I move forward looking for the Mosque. Where is it located. Actually It's not far from my guest house at the "Old Market" area only 500mtrs. The passed way still from lands, not a smooth concrete cements yet. On the gateway installed a green old board explained the name of the "NEAK MAH Mosque" and located at Stung Thmei Village.

Exploring deepen into the muslim Stung Thmei village, the circumstances totally different from the touristics backpackers area at old market. Here, the village live is look simplicity by nature. They look a bit isolated from the busy and noisy live surrounding the old market. Except the people still look very happy, warm friendly smiling and the kids playing and study around. The ladies mostly wearing hijab here, even an adolescent kids already taught to wear the headscarf.

After Zuhur the small kids already trained to attend the lessons (arabic) class for free. There are about 50 kids who study there. It was refreshing my youtfull time, while the teacher with rattan stick reading and beating hardly the whiteboard while the kids recited the lesson :) hehehe.. rattan sticks.. though never see that stuff again used by any teacher in Indonesia.. .

A friend who has the "Moslem Community in Seam Reap" described a bit that the kids are getting free lessons. So, there is no salary for the religious teacher in Cambodia. The government didn't pay any salary for any religion teachers. Mostly the tearchers will survive by the donations of the kids parents, mosque funding or event some donations from other country such as Malaysia and Singapore. Upon the teachers provide teaching voluntary.

The moslem community in Cambodia is tiny, only about 2% with different isolated areas. They are not so much mingle with other beliefs, but the harmonious relations among religions still well maintain. Not far from the mosque also standing a church. NGO such as Muslim Aid provided assistant for servicing on human being to improve this small community.

Livelihood for the community mostly made from trading, merchants and enterpreneurs. By observing the plain spirit of the childrens who following the class, the simplicity lives of the community, absolutely they need more better knowledge for their better generation in the future. Always noted that Knowledge against the poverty..

Swimming Buffalo @ Victory Beach

Swimming Buffalo @ Victory Beach

From the Victory hill we further go down to the Victory beach for swimming , relaxing and waiting the sunset for taking some photos. Almost one week in Sihanoukville and staying at the Ochheteal beach area but never get the beautiful sunset photos yet. This afternoon I don't want to miss the sunset as it's our last nite in Sihanoukville.

We come by the "airport" part entrance to the beach. "Airport" is a sea side pub/restorant, as the name, the design for this pub also like in airport where you can see a plane around the sea side of the beach as the stages. It's an interesting and a unique design.. though.

It's a short path to the beach, while you already able to see the white sands of the beach, the small harbor, two floating small ships beside it and a swimming buffalo. This is fun "A unique smart buffalo also enjoying swimming and playing in the warm, clear waters of Victory beach.." what a view.. whose buffalow is that ? :) come in my mind abruptly.

Further our walk on the haven until the end corner. Take some photos, and keep observing the swimming buffalo and the kids who play the water around it. Damn.. the buffalo is not alive and moving.. hehehe.. It's just a sculpted from a stone.. hmmm it's seem real and live in some views.. aha.. what a unique art.. hehehe..

Then we leave the swimming buffalo, finding our place for swimming in the beach. . The water is pretty warm, excellent clear and clean. There is weak waves at the beach side and not so windy. We swim about 30mnts, meanwhile waiting the sunset.

Around 6pm, the sunset comes, I believe it will be the most beautifull sunset angles that I have so far.. yeah It's .. wow.. marvelous sunset... I love it.. It is look great.. the colour sorounding the sunset, the shadow color on the sea.. hmmm... excellent.. none human being can created that.. though.. what a powerfull creator.. "Subhanallah" ...

All Right.. the sunset over, the swimming buffalo still there without making any move, then we said good bye to the swimming buffalo.. then we head home.. at Ouchheteal beach..... satisfied.. sunset.. worthy seightseing.. :) bye bye.. swimming buffalo...
